A-CSM: AI Contextual Signal Matrix — Technical Report
Abstract
The AI Contextual Signal Matrix (A-CSM) is an engineering implementation framework that translates the Vært Conversational Context Architecture into a verifiable detection and assessment pipeline. The architecture lineage proceeds through four prior frameworks: CXC-7 (seven-dimensional contextual experience construct), CXOD-7 (seven-layer orchestration system with coherence metric), USCH (user-side contextual hallucination framework defining 14 phenomena across six formation stages), and USCI (four-axis contextual integrity index with three-state classification). A-CSM operationalises these theoretical constructs into three functional modules: a Signal Detection Engine mapping USCH phenomena to computable event signatures, an Assessment Pipeline implementing USCI four-axis scoring with evidence-chain traceability, and a Vært Context Defense (VCD) action layer providing deterministic archiving, termination, redirection, and escalation responses. This report documents the design rationale, system architecture, signal taxonomy, theory-to-implementation traceability matrix, reproducibility protocol, governance alignment (NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, EU AI Act), and current limitations. The framework is pre-empirical: no IRB-approved human-subject validation has been completed. All claims are limited to engineering design and internal consistency verification using synthetic test cases.
