Abstract

This record documents the validation of a self-evaluating and self-correcting computational system developed under the Islah Project (2026). The system implements a bounded feedback loop (RSIM: Reasoning → State Evaluation → Modification) where internal state variables—specifically honesty, history, and contextual factors—are evaluated to produce a scalar confidence value σ constrained within (0,1). A restoration mechanism identifies the weakest contributing component and applies incremental adjustments. The system is explicitly designed to avoid artificial inflation; all updates are bounded and do not allow σ to reach certainty. The key validation requirement is empirical: σ must increase after restoration Δσ (deltaSigma) must be strictly greater than zero Restoration must act on variables that directly influence σ The included audit output demonstrates: originalSigma: 0.7862 restoredSigma: 0.7952 deltaSigma: 0.0090 restoration_applied: true This confirms that the system’s corrective mechanism is effective and measurable. The improvement is incremental, reflecting controlled behavior rather than overfitting or artificial gain. The system is governed by the following constraints: σ ∈ (0,1); certainty is not permitted Restoration is bounded (max 3 cycles per evaluation) No external authority claims (non-medical, non-diagnostic) Improvements must be causally linked to system variables Balance is maintained across contributing factors This work demonstrates a minimal but functional architecture for: self-evaluation targeted self-correction measurable improvement It does not claim general intelligence or domain expertise. The contribution is structural: a loop that verifies whether internal modifications produce observable improvement.
