OPERATOR CONSTRAINTS, CONSERVATION, AND THE CONDITIONS FOR DYNAMICAL CONSISTENCY IN QUANTUM THEORIES
Abstract
ABSTRACTWe examine whether quantum evolution can remain mathematically consistent whenexact conservation laws are enforced through time-propagated dynamical processes.Using operator-theoretic analysis, we demonstrate that any non-zero temporal delay inenforcing exact conservation renders unitary evolution undefined. Mathematicalconsistency therefore requires conservation laws to be implemented as non-temporalconstraints on the admissible Hilbert space—a structure already present in standardquantum mechanics. We show that such constraint-based enforcement appearsthroughout established physics, including gauge theories, fermionic statistics, electromagnetism, and general relativity, and demonstrate why this structural feature ismathematically necessary rather than merely convenient. Constraint-based enforcementpermits correlations without invariant temporal ordering of the enforcement mechanismitself. We address this by proposing a boundary condition on irreversible information-bearing states. All mathematical claims are derived from internal consistencyrequirements of the operator formalism.
