Abstract

BeefAI™ Champion is a genetic decision support platform for Angus cattle producers powered by multiple integrated engines spanning three layers of carbon-aware cattle assessment: Genetics, Management, and Carbon & Environmental Efficiency. This document provides a comprehensive description of the mathematical methodology, biological rationale, and computational architecture underlying every calculation performed by the platform. Engines documented include APEX (Angus Percentile Excellence), ACE (Adaptive Complementarity Engine), CER (Cow Efficiency Ratio), MEI (Methane Emission Intensity), GENEius AI Narration, BeefAI Signals™, CEI (Carbon Efficiency Index), and BAI-CERT certification. The platform implements The BeefAI Genetic Optimisation Method™ — an eight-step proprietary process comprising EBV percentile normalisation, goal-weighted multi-trait scoring, biological guardrails, antagonism detection, complementarity mating optimisation, methane emission intensity modelling, cow economics & efficiency modelling, and stayability / longevity prediction. All scoring is deterministic — repeatable, auditable, and independent of AI narration. Calibrated to the March 2026 TransTasman Angus Cattle Evaluation (TACE), published by Angus Australia.
