Golden Transparency: The Cooperative/Stubborn Split in Physical Matter and the Fibonacci Nuclear Lattice (v1.1)
Abstract
The Bootstrap Universe Programme has established that the golden field ℚ(√5) governs self-reference at every level (Papers 159–160). This paper identifies a selection mechanism determining which physical matter exhibits golden behaviour: golden transparency. Physical matter is transparent to the golden field when its nuclear constituents sit at the nodes of the golden lattice ℤ[φ]. The noble gases He, Ne, and Kr have alpha-particle counts of exactly 1, 5, and 21 — the Fibonacci numbers F₁, F₅, and F₈ (p ≈ 0.04 by hypergeometric test). Ar (10 alphas) and Xe (33 alphas) are off-lattice. The cooperative/stubborn split of the Binary Frobenius Theorem, previously established for primes in ℤ[φ], is here observed operating on nuclear matter. The paper identifies three levels of golden transparency: intrinsic (nuclear Fibonacci counting, phase-independent), emergent (quasicrystal arrangement, structure-dependent), and projected (viscosity √m factor, diluted by electron geometry). The viscosity ratio √(m_Ne/m_He) ≈ √5 (to 0.41%) carries a diluted golden signal, but the nuclear counting — not the viscosity — is the primary observable. This paper provides groundwork for the Navier–Stokes programme (Papers 163–166): the golden structure enters fluid dynamics through the nuclear counting of constituent matter, and the Steinbach constraint on strain-rate eigenvalues should be more precisely satisfied in cooperative fluids than in stubborn ones.
