3D Field Behaviour in Lithic and Stepped Structures — Wavelength (λ) Comparison Across Selected Sites
Abstract
This paper presents a focused comparison of repeating surface wavelength (λ) across selected lithic and rock-cut sites. The study examines Sacsayhuamán (Peru), Petra (Jordan), and Naqsh-e Rostam (Iran), supported by a comparative reference relief site. Across these locations, a consistent wavelength range (~0.6 m to ~1.4 m) is observed, associated with directional structure (~30° / ~45° carriers), node clustering, and continuity across surfaces. All observations are derived from 3D references and imagery. No formation mechanism is assigned. This work builds on the previously published lithic dataset:https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19211103
