Abstract

Classical philosophy and psychology have treated doubt (Zweifel) primarily as a cognitive-epistemological phenomenon — a problem of knowledge, certainty, and rational deliberation. This paper proposes a fundamentally different framework: doubt is a bio-social alarm signal located at the intersection of external societal time-pressure (the Relativity Room) and internal biological-psychological response capacity (the Relief SisTeam). Drawing on original research conducted independently in Hamburg over several years, this paper introduces the BNV_DELTA / SPSC framework and argues that doubt: (1) emerges structurally during puberty as a state of partial order; (2) operates as a six-dimensional signal system encompassing threat, danger, injustice, grief, fear, and confusion; (3) bifurcates into two developmental pathways — self-directed integration or suppressive submission; (4) is structurally gendered, functioning as the backward-reflective logic suppressed in patriarchal systems; and (5) finds its resolution not in certainty, but in Erleichterung (relief). Happiness (Glück) is defined as the active process of closing the gap created by unresolved doubt, thereby protecting one's own macro-micro-system from external attack. Keywords: doubt, Zweifel, alarm signal, puberty, partial order, gender logic, relief, bio-social development, suppression, SPSC framework
