Abstract

This us a standalone study within THE QUR’AN: A Root-Based Qur’an-by-the-Qur’an Translation in Order of Revelation. This publication examines the Qur’anic opening formula: In the name of God, The Almighty, The Merciful. The study presents the Basmalah through the project’s layered method: Arabic text, transliteration, Word-by-Word analysis, translation, Root Word Analysis, Qur’an-by-the-Qur’an Interpretation, Interpretive Proposal, Mathematical Observations, and appendix material. It explains the rendering of bismi, Allah, al-Raḥmān, and al-Raḥīm, with particular attention to preserving the distinction between The Almighty and The Merciful. The Basmalah is treated not as a decorative formula, but as a declaration of invocation, authority, sovereignty, and mercy. Mathematical observations are included as a secondary layer. Supplementary CSV datasets are provided for transparency, verification, sorting, reuse, and independent analysis of the lexical, positional, and numerical observations associated with this study. The Arabic Qur’an remains primary. This publication is a human translation and study, not a substitute for the Arabic text.
