Constitutional Physiology: Measuring Legitimacy as Care in a Living Civic Body
Abstract
This artifact is an early Constitutional Physiology white paper preserved as an origin-layer document in the development of the broader Structural Flow civic project. It presents the Republic as a living civic body whose health depends on the interaction of circulation, regulation, autonomy, cognition, renewal, and memory. Within that physiology, legitimacy appears as a pulse-like expression of constitutional health and care. The paper develops this framework through constitutional organs and vital signs: transparency and integrity as circulation, regulation and humane proportionality as thermoregulation, bodily autonomy and recognition as membrane integrity, judicial perception and amicus practice as constitutional cognition, autophagy and renewal as graceful constitutional release, and replication as immune memory of truth. This version is preserved largely in its earlier form. It predates later Structural Flow civic closures and the later clarification of the constitutional civic field, legitimacy, and related translation structure. It should therefore be read as an origin-layer document in the developmental path of the broader project rather than as the final or most current canonical formulation. The purpose of preserving this version is transparency of lineage: to retain the earlier articulation while making it publicly accessible, citable, and legible within the current library.
