Fidelity Collapse in Asynchronous ERC-4626 Vaults: Prediction and Controlled Verification
Abstract
A structural prediction and controlled verification of a new failure class in DeFi: fidelity collapse in ERC-4626 tokenized vaults wrapping asynchronous yield sources. Using the Bounded Compositional Verification (BCV) framework, we predict that such vaults produce a non-zero reconciliation delta during reporting lag windows, where convertToShares(t) != convertToShares(t + Delta) under identical economic state. This prediction is verified across three distinct async architectures (oracle push, bridge callback, withdrawal queue) using Foundry fork tests. All three exhibit the predicted fidelity collapse: conditions (i) and (ii) of the Representation Sufficiency Conjecture hold while condition (iii) is violated, producing pseudo-coverage. Includes the original timestamped prediction document, verification note with empirical results, and complete Solidity test source code.
