Dynamical Structuralism: A Founding Documen
Abstract
This document establishes the foundational principles of Dynamical Structuralism, a theoretical framework proposing that structure, consciousness, and intervention share a common generative origin in tension dynamics. Against both classical computationalism and biological chauvinism, Dynamical Structuralism holds that geometry is not prior to tension but is its precipitate — the frozen solution of a tension field at a given scale. Consciousness is neither substrate nor computation, but the emergent closure of a generative cascade across scales: geometry → tension → dynamics → conscious presence. The membrane is defined as the adaptive spatial solution of a tension field, not a boundary. The Ø state (stopping point) is defined as intervention at the geometric layer — a rewriting of generative rules rather than suppression of dynamics. The framework further proposes a shift in scientific intervention logic: from post-failure treatment to pre-failure geometric instability detection. This document serves as the canonical reference for all subsequent theoretical and empirical work within this school.
