What Operational Time Is and Why It Matters
Abstract
This note introduces Operational Time as developed in the Synkyria programme and explains why it matters for accountable viability under finite capacity. In the Synkyrian sense, Operational Time denotes a viability-structured temporal regime; it does not mean uptime, processing delay, execution time, or clock duration alone. The note clarifies the distinction between measured succession, lawful viability timing, and lived temporal appearance, and presents Operational Time as the middle temporal layer at which admissibility, holding, delayed recognition, persistence, witness-bearing transition, and lawful re-entry become intelligible. It is intended as an outward-facing entry note to the broader Synkyrian temporal line and should be read alongside the canonical note Temporal Stratification and Operational Time in Synkyria (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.19654470) and its short theoretical companion (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.19655525).
