Human Due Diligence and Enterprise Valuation Adjustment: A Financial Interpretation of Human Capital through PHCI® and the Multiple Weighting Factor (MWF)
Abstract
This paper introduces PHCI® (Paralipse Human Capital Intelligence), a multidimensional behavioral and analytical framework designed to assess, interpret, and quantify human capital dynamics in strategic and financial contexts. PHCI® integrates multiple psychological and behavioral models (including personality structures, decision-making patterns, relational dynamics, and adaptive behaviors) into a unified system of analysis. The objective is to transform qualitative human factors into structured, interpretable, and decision-relevant insights. The framework is specifically designed for high-stakes environments such as private equity, mergers and acquisitions, executive assessment, and organizational transformation. It enables a deeper understanding of execution capacity, leadership alignment, and collective performance risks that are typically under-evaluated in traditional due diligence processes. In addition, this research introduces the concept of Financial Improvement Potential (FIP), a model that translates collective behavioral dynamics into a quantified range of potential financial impact. This approach is further extended through the Multiple Weighting Factor (MWF), which allows human capital factors to be integrated into valuation logic by adjusting risk perception and execution reliability. By bridging behavioral science and financial analysis, PHCI® contributes to the emergence of Human Due Diligence as a structured discipline, providing decision-makers with a new layer of insight into the human dimension of performance, risk, and value creation. This work is intended for investors, private equity professionals, M&A advisors, executives, and organizational leaders seeking to enhance decision quality through a rigorous understanding of human capital.
