Abstract

Abstract The apparent incompatibility between the locality demanded by General Relativity and the non-local correlations confirmed by Bell-inequality experiments has remained one of the deepest unresolved tensions in theoretical physics. Prior proposals — from hidden-variable theories to the ER=EPR conjecture — either introduce unobservable degrees of freedom or rest on conjectural identifications. This paper proposes a resolution grounded in a five-dimensional hyper-conic geometry in which the four-dimensional spacetime manifold constitutes the base of a structure whose apex is located at a single, degenerate coordinate in the fifth dimension. Under this construction, the geodesic separation between any two points in the 4D base vanishes when evaluated along the fifth-dimensional coordinate, rendering them geometrically identical at the informational source. The framework is extended in three directions: (i) it provides a physical mechanism for the Einsteinian Block Universe by anchoring the entire temporal extent of the 4D manifold at the common apex, quantified by the Block Integrity Tensor; (ii) it demonstrates that the apex-mediated informational identity does not permit faster-than-light transport of mass-energy, because the transition of physical mass from the 4D base to the apex coordinate requires infinite work against the Informational Confinement Potential; and (iii) it identifies the speed of light as the maximum sequential update frequency of the 4D manifold, providing a new geometric derivation of relativistic causality. The model extends and formalises the Minimum Informational Boundary (MIB) developed in the Information Boundary Principle (IBP) corpus.[1][2] It is consistent with Lorentz covariance, reproduces Bell-state correlations without superluminal signalling, and reduces to standard General Relativity in the appropriate limit. I. Introduction Quantum entanglement presents a formal challenge that has resisted geometric resolution since Einstein, Podolsky, and Rosen posed their thought experiment in 1935.[3] The derivation of Bell inequalities and their subsequent experimental violation confirms that no local hidden-variable theory can account for the observed correlations.[4][5] The prevailing interpretive frameworks — Copenhagen, many-worlds, relational quantum mechanics, and pilot-wave theory — each treat non-locality as a primitive feature of the formalism rather than deriving it from an underlying geometry. A geometrically productive response was introduced by Maldacena and Susskind in the ER=EPR conjecture, which identifies entangled particle pairs with non-traversable Einstein-Rosen bridges.[6] While conceptually compelling, ER=EPR remains a conjecture; it does not provide a metric derivation of the non-local correlation strength, and it does not directly address either Block Universe coherence or the causality constraints that prevent entanglement from being weaponised for superluminal communication. A second long-standing difficulty concerns the Einsteinian Block Universe. Special and General Relativity entail a block-universe ontology in which all events — past, present, and future — coexist as a static four-dimensional manifold.[14] This view is internally consistent but offers no dynamical mechanism explaining why the global informational state of the Block is coherent across spacelike and timelike separation. A third difficulty is the apparent paradox created by any non-local model: if entanglement correlations are mediated by a geometric shortcut, what prevents that shortcut from being exploited to move mass-energy faster than light? Any serious geometric account of non-locality must close this objection rigorously, not merely assert it. The present paper addresses all three difficulties within a single framework. The model embeds 4D spacetime as the base surface of a fifth-dimensional cone whose apex is a single, shared coordinate identified with the Minimum Informational Boundary (MIB) of the IBP corpus.[1][2] Under this construction: entangled particles share a common apex coordinate established at preparation (resolving spatial non-locality); the temporal history of the Block is anchored at the same vertex (resolving Block coherence); and the transition of physical mass to the apex is shown to require infinite work (preserving relativistic causality). Sections II through X develop these results in sequence. This paper does not assume a pre-existing non-local mechanism. Rather, it derives the appearance of non-local correlations as a geometric consequence of metric degeneracy in an extended spacetime. The results that follow should therefore be read as a model-dependent derivation within a specified geometric framework, not as an a priori modification of quantum theory. Where standard quantum results are reproduced, this is taken as consistency with the formalism rather than replacement of it.
