Seismicity Index S: Definition of a Quantitative State Variable
Abstract
We introduce the Seismicity Index S, a quantitative measure of collective seismic activity within a specified spatiotemporal domain. It serves as a system-level state variable describing the integrated behavior of earthquake populations and provides a foundation for the analysis of seismic dynamics.
