Abstract

Sixteen original songs covering core topics in chemical thermodynamics, including the fundamental equation dU = TdS − pdV, the equipartition theorem, isothermal compressibility, and entropy. The lyrics were generated by ChatGPT and, to a lesser extent, Claude, based on topic and musical-style prompts provided by the author. The lyrics and style instructions were then transferred to the AI-music platform Suno (v5), which generated the audio. Songs are provided in MP3 and WAV formats. Generated April 2026. Released under CC-BY 4.0. Track listing (topic and genre): Alpha — thermal expansion coefficient α (afrobeat) Boundaries — system and surroundings (funk-pop) Compression — isothermal compressibility κ_T (minimal dark electronic) Free Energy (G&A) — Gibbs and Helmholtz free energies (Latin urban) Fundamental — the equation dU = TdS − pdV (slow K-pop ballad) Half kT — equipartition theorem (minimal electro-pop) Hot And Cold (ft. Sadi Carnot) — Carnot cycle (lo-fi chillhop) No Heat Here (Adiabat) — adiabatic processes (electro-pop) Not The Same — heat q versus temperature T (indie rock) Pi Tee — internal pressure π_T (Hong Kong pop) Reversible Path (Entropy) — thermodynamic definition of S (city pop) Speed Curve (ft. JC Maxwell) — Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution (rap) Temperature — temperature definition T = (∂U/∂S)_V (country) V Sub M — molar volume (K-pop) van der Waals — real gases and the van der Waals equation (country) Z One — compressibility factor / ideal-gas limit (minimal electro-pop)
