Abstract

Scientific knowledge has learned to work with physical things: with bodies, processes, systems, functions, and observable consequences. Yet when it encounters objects that are not physical things — mind, mathematics, law, civilisation — its confidence begins to falter. Such objects are either reduced to material carriers, psychic states, records, institutions, or social forms, or else displaced into undifferentiated metaphysics. Between these two failures lies a vast and still insufficiently charted territory: the field of objects that are not things, yet are retained through carriers, act in history, preserve identity through change, and produce objectively distinguishable consequences. This territory now receives its own metascientific domain: MENTALIKA. MENTALIKA does not add another vocabulary to existing descriptions. It derives the class of research-suitable objects of a non-physical order, introduces the mental object as a strict analytical entity, and formulates the criteria of objecthood — explanatory necessity, minimal sufficiency, and architectural distinguishability — by which genuine objects are separated from mere themes, traces, contents, experiences, records, or conventions. It differentiates object from carrier, manifestation, content, memory, and information, and develops a general architectural language of retention, transmission, continuation, action, deformation, limit, recursivity, and mental resource. The framework has already been tested and confirmed on two objects of high theoretical density: mind, internally strained and limit-saturated, and civilisation, historically extended, distributed, and recursively self-maintaining. A mathematical demonstration case — the Pythagorean theorem — shows the same distinctions at work on maximally disciplined material, where the object can be neither reduced to a record nor inflated into metaphysical substance. MENTALIKA is presented here not as a promise of future application, but as an already productive, independent, and differentiated metascientific domain: a new horizon for the strict analysis of the non-physical without reduction, mystification, or loss of object-level discipline.
