Micromagnetic simulations data presented in "Tailoring Alnico magnets through micromagnetic simulations and machine learning."
Abstract
We provide micromagnetic simulation data presented in the manuscript “Tailoring Alnico magnets through micromagnetic simulations and machine learning”. These data correspond to the systems designed to model the magnetic properties of Alnico from nano- to micro- length scales. 1. Single-rod system The single-rod system consists of an isolated rod and is used to investigate the magnetic properties of an individual rod in the absence of magnetostatic interactions. The material properties, shape, diameter and aspect ratio of the rod are indicated in the name of each subfolder, following the format ‘material-shape_diameter_aspect-ratio’. Magnetisation configuration files are provided for ellipsoidal and cylindrical rods with flat, rounded, and pointed ends, each measuring 20 nm in diameter and 100 nm in length. 2. Multi-rod system The multi-rod system consists of 18 rods arranged in two layers, with nine rods per layer. It accounts for near-field magnetostatic interactions between rods. The material properties, shape, diameter and aspect ratio of the rods are specified in the name of each subfolder, following the format ‘material-shape_diameter_aspect-ratio’.Lateral inter-rod spacings of 2, 5, and 10 nm are considered, and the corresponding datasets are organized into subfolders according to the lateral inter-rod spacing. Magnetisation configuration files are provided for cylindrical rods with a diameter of 20 nm, a length of 100 nm, and a lateral inter-rod spacing of 5 nm. 3. Multi-rod system with varying angle of the applied field This system was used to study different angles of the applied magnetic field with respect to the long axis of the rods. The lateral and vertical inter-rod spacing is fixed at 5 nm, and the aspect ratio of the rods is 5. The material properties, shape, diameter, aspect ratio of the rods, and the angle of the applied field are indicated in the name of each subfolder, following the format ‘material-shape_diameter_aspect-ratio-angle’.The datasets consist of demagnetization curves stored in x.dat files. The first column specifies the state of the reversal where the change in magnetisation relative to the saturation magnetisation surpasses a defined threshold. The second and third column contain the values of the applied field and of the corresponding magnetisation, respectively.
