Abstract

BU63 argues that AI alignment contradictions and the simulation hypothesis point to the same structural problem: projection-stratum systems cannot generate total-reality closure by themselves. The paper takes Anthropic’s large-scale model-spec stress test and pilot sabotage-risk report as contemporary evidence that value rules, model specifications, safety policies, and deployment evaluations remain local ledger systems. They can reduce ambiguity and behavioral risk, but they cannot eliminate alignment residuals. Where there is alignment, there is residual; where there is residual, there is stratal difference; where there is stratal difference, lossless alignment cannot be completed inside the projection stratum alone. The paper then connects this diagnosis to the simulation hypothesis. Simulation theory is reclassified as a larger version of projection-level formal self-reference and consciousness-driven narrative self-excitation: a formalizable universe is mistaken for a computed universe, and projection-level readability is inflated into an external computational ontology. Under $B_U$, this is a closure-level misplacement. Reality can be calculated, modeled, compressed, and simulated, but calculability does not grant computation ontic priority. BU63’s central judgment is that reality is not a tunable program but a no-free-parameter settlement closure. AI alignment systems, scientific models, human organizations, and simulation narratives all operate through partial rules, finite specifications, symbolic compression, and residual-bearing projections. Only the same-world-sheet of total reality can carry ultimate regularization, because it integrates boundary, path, cost, residual, feedback, and settlement into one closure. Thus, AI alignment contradictions expose the residual structure of local rule systems; the simulation hypothesis exposes the same error at cosmological scale. Both are projection-stratum closures misread as ontic closure.
