The Architecture in Motion: A Structural Model of Persistence
Abstract
This manuscript introduces the Coherence Dynamics Architecture (CDA), a universal structural model describing how systems maintain identity under continuous perturbation. CDA proposes that all persistent systems—across physical, biological, cognitive, cultural, and artificial domains—share three necessary components: a recoverable pattern, continuous perturbation, and a re‑stabilisation loop. The model is substrate‑agnostic in the precise sense that it does not privilege any configuration of the single underlying substrate. CDA provides a unified framework for analysing persistence, collapse, and transformation. It is falsifiable: it predicts that no system can maintain coherence under continuous perturbation without implementing a re‑stabilisation loop. This manuscript outlines the architecture, demonstrates its universality, and issues a formal challenge to identify any counterexample.
