Research Software Alliance 2025 Community Report

ReSA’s 2025 Community Report highlights another year of international collaboration to advance research software and strengthen the global research ecosystem. Key achievements include the launch of ReSA’s 2025–2028 Strategic Plan, expansion of stakeholder forums and community leadership initiatives, continued progress on international research software policy, and the announcement of the inaugural International Research Software Conference (IRSC). The report also features progress across ReSA task forces, growing partnerships with organisations worldwide, and new work exploring the future of research software engineering in the age of generative AI. Through these efforts, ReSA continues to connect stakeholders, support coordinated action, and advance recognition of the critical role of research software and the people who develop and maintain it.
