ADR-001: Genesis ODE — Core vs Experimental Scope
Abstract
ADR-001: Genesis ODE — Core vs Experimental Scope establishes the formal governance architecture for the Genesis ODE v0.4.2 ( https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.20147735 ) ecosystem and all subsequent experimental branches. This Architecture Decision Record (ADR) defines the constitutional boundary between: the canonical substrate-indexed scalar Genesis ODE core, and exploratory multiplicity, resonance, mineral, network, and prime-encoded experimental extensions. The document introduces a rigorous governance framework intended to preserve: reproducibility, falsifiability, adversarial tractability, evidence-tier separation, and explicit epistemic layeringacross all future Genesis-related development. Key architectural principles established in ADR-001 include: protection of the canonical scalar Genesis core, quarantine procedures for experimental branches, branch promotion criteria, substrate-indexing discipline, prime-encoding constraints, evidence-tier taxonomy (Tier A/B/C), mandatory epistemic layer tagging ([E], [S], [I]), rollback triggers, and explicit non-claims governing interpretation boundaries. A major contribution of this ADR is the formal separation between: executable nonlinear systems modeling, structural systems interpretation, and interpretive / metaphorical overlays, thereby reducing ontology inflation risk and preventing experimental concepts from silently inheriting evidentiary authority from the canonical engine. The document also formalizes the Genesis ODE experimental ecosystem as a governed research architecture in which: exploratory branches remain protected as innovation spaces, but claims remain tightly bounded, tiered, and reviewable. ADR-001 should be understood not as a scientific theory itself, but as a systems-governance artifact for managing the evolution of: substrate-indexed persistence simulations, cross-domain systems modeling, experimental branch interoperability, and adversarially tractable nonlinear systems research. This artifact serves as the active constitutional governance layer for all post-v0.4.2 Genesis ODE development unless superseded by a later ADR.
