DonatJS Core: A Zero-Dependency JSON-Driven Client-Side Router and UI Rendering Engine
Abstract
DonatJS Core (script.js) is a zero-dependency, no-build-step client-side rendering (CSR) engine that transforms structured data (JSON) into dynamic web interfaces through a polymorphic component dispatch system. Developed at Sismadi Lab (sismadi.com) — Experimental Zone, where Frameworks Are Born Before Becoming Products — owned by PT Sismadi Langit Solusi. DonatJS is the third generation of the framework lineage born at the same lab: Ktupad (2019, EC00201952487) → BayamJS (2023, EC00202367008) → DonatJS (2024, EC00202414144), all registered as official copyrights at DJKI (Direktorat Jenderal Kekayaan Intelektual), Republic of Indonesia. The architecture rests on three pillars: (1) Micro Routing System based on query strings with History API and automatic fallback resolution; (2) JSON-Driven Component Architecture where all layouts and content are defined as flat JavaScript objects (pages.*) without explicit HTML markup; (3) Polymorphic Render Engine that dispatches component functions (components[section]) based on the section field in data. Built-in components include hero, features, article, titleHero, learningModule (with navigation sidebar), quizEngine (base64-protected), certificate (printable), slideViewer (PREP-structured), and live dataset editor. A Markdown-like lineRenderer supports code blocks, headings, skill bars, timeline steps, inline tables, and form validation. SVG.js integrates via svg.di(), executed automatically on every route navigation. Patent application: S00202503129 (DJKI).
