Segmented Time Theory (STT): A Position on Temporal Structure
Abstract
Time is conventionally modelled as a continuous and uniformly ordered dimension. This assumption underpins most physical and philosophical treatments of causality and temporal progression. Segmented Time Theory (STT) proposes an alternative structural interpretation: that time may be partitioned into discrete, bounded sectors rather than existing as a strictly continuous flow. Within this framework, temporal ordering is not assumed to be globally monotonic but may instead be conditionally defined across segments. This position reframes the underlying architecture of time in a manner that may clarify existing paradoxes and open new avenues for interpretation.
