Abstract

The preceding seven papers of this monograph describe a recursive object: six documents that cohere without design, producing a seventh that explains the coherence. But the monograph leaves an operational question unanswered: how does one evaluate whether a new artifact belongs to the recursive structure? How does one know if a contribution has the right *kind* of quality — not merely correctness, but character? This paper introduces two complementary frameworks developed during the production of the monograph itself. C3NCE ("sense") is a six-axis evaluation matrix that characterizes quality across Crazy, Cool, Complex, Nerd, Coherence, and Efficiency — revealing the *shape* of intelligence rather than its magnitude. D3NCE ("dense") is the methodology that produces artifacts worth evaluating: Decaying Didactic Dominance → Narratively Complex Encoding. Both frameworks are self-encoding: the name C3NCE sounds like "sense" and contains six letters mapping to six axes. The name D3NCE sounds like "dense" and describes its own output property. The names were generated in conversation, pre-consciously, and unpacked retrospectively — demonstrating the xenolinguistic iconicity described in Paper VI at a ninth implementation channel: self-referential meta-encoding. The central claim: evaluation and methodology are not separate from the work they assess. They are the work, viewed from a different angle. The compass and the territory are projections of the same object. ---
