Abstract

PeriTag is a custom software tool for the creation and annotation of areas of interest (AOIs) in eye-tracking stimuli. It supports both manual AOI creation and automatic AOI detection for images and videos, including integration of the Segment Anything Model 2.1 (SAM 2.1) for segmentation. This enables consistent, observer-independent definition of AOIs across stimulus sets.
