Abstract

This repository contains the necessary codes to reproduce the main results in the research article Waned mantle upwelling contributes to a heavily deformed northern smooth plains on Mercury accepted by Nature Communications. The .ipynb script reproduces the main figures in this manuscript. Before you run this script in Jupyter notebook, please ensure that functions.py has been loaded. Raw data supplementary to the Python script can be found in Figshare through https://doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.31052512 The Multicomponent_model.zip and Mantle_upwelling.prm are the necessary files supporting the two-dimensional numerical simulation using the Advanced Solver for Planetary Evolution, Convection, and Tectonics (ASPECT) finite element code.
