Mapping Execution Governance to Existing AI and Autonomous Systems Governance Frameworks v1.0.1
Abstract
This crosswalk note maps Execution Governance (EG) to selected existing AI governance, risk management, ethical design, and agent-related frameworks, including ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI RMF, IEEE 7000, and W3C agent-related community discussions. It positions EG as a complementary structural layer focused on pre-execution authorization, governed effects, live-context integrity, accountability, reviewability, and sufficient verifiable proof. The note clarifies where EG may complement existing frameworks and where it does not overlap with them. It argues that existing frameworks address important organizational, lifecycle, ethical design, risk management, and protocol concerns, while EG addresses a distinct execution-level question: whether a specific proposed action may be authorized to produce a specific governed effect under live conditions. This document is part of the Execution Governance v1.0.1 Public Release Series. It is a conceptual standards mapping note for public discussion and pre-standardization research. It does not claim equivalence, compliance, conformance, certification, or endorsement by ISO, IEC, IEEE, NIST, W3C, or any other standards organization.
