Abstract

This release contains the simulation and post-processing code accompanying: A. Škegro, T. Wik, B. Bijlenga, A. Bessman, C. Zou, System-level assessment of dynamic reconfiguration for lifetime and cost outcomes in electric vehicle battery packs, Nature Communications 17, 5980 (2026), https://doi.org/10.1038/s41467-026-74951-8 Contents simulation/ — MATLAB Monte Carlo simulation of lifetime extension in reconfigurable battery packs (RBPs) vs. conventional battery packs (CBPs). 240 parameter combinations × 1,000 iterations. Runs on HPC via SLURM or locally in MATLAB R2024b. postprocessing/ — MATLAB scripts to reproduce all figures and the economic analysis from pre-computed simulation data. Executable via Code Ocean (Docker) or locally in MATLAB R2023b+. Reproducibility A fully executable environment is available on Code Ocean. Pre-computed simulation outputs are included in postprocessing/data/ so figures can be reproduced without rerunning the simulations.
