Abstract

A type-strain 16S rRNA reference database for the family Lactobacillaceae, built deterministically from LPSN nomenclature and NCBI assemblies. It holds every validly published name in the family, each carrying a representative type genome and a full-length 16S rRNA gene sequence where one exists: 460 sequences covering 434 of 441 species, with seven type strains abstaining and each deposited with the reason. The reproducible build pipeline that produces it is included. What is in this deposit. lactotypedb-v1.0.0-source.tar.gz - the repository at v1.0.0: the deterministic build pipeline, the frozen 2026-07-11 source snapshot (LPSN, NCBI assembly metadata, 16S records, PGAP annotations), the deposited database under outputs/v1.0.0/, the four-step amplicon workflow, and the standalone guards. lactotypedb-v1.0.0-genomes.tar.gz - the 829 type-strain genome assemblies the build reads. These are deposited because a fresh re-fetch by accession is not guaranteed to return identical bytes, since GenBank assemblies are revised in place. README_REPRODUCE.md - the offline reproduction procedure. SHA256SUMS.txt - sha256 of each archive. Reproduction. The build is deterministic. Every table and the FASTA rebuild byte-identically from the frozen snapshot, with no network access to LPSN or NCBI. outputs/v1.0.0/RUN.json records a sha256 for every output and every frozen source. Each external tool is version-pinned and checked at the point of use. Licensing. This deposit is not under a single licence. Code is MIT. Data is CC BY 4.0, except LPSN-derived nomenclature, which is CC BY-SA 4.0 with attribution to the DSMZ as LPSN requires, and NCBI records, which are in the public domain. The archive ships LICENSE, LICENSE-DATA and THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.md, which are the authoritative terms. The licence field of this record states Other (Open), because no single licence covers the whole deposit.
