The Decision Drop World: How Visible Decision Interfaces Lose Causal Authority Under Systemic Pressure
Abstract
This applied brief introduces Decision Drop as a practical concept for reading institutional, organizational, regulatory, platform, and systemic decisions under pressure. Decision Drop occurs when decisive authority moves from visible decision interfaces into deeper structural layers because failure cost, exposure, or continuity pressure has become too large for the surface layer to absorb. The brief distinguishes Decision Drop from ordinary delegation, expert input, legal compliance, and procedural decision-making. Its central test is whether the visible decision layer can still meaningfully choose differently without confronting deeper structural damage. If not, the decision may have dropped.
