HγC A5: Distributed Bounded Revisability in Collective and Hybrid History-Bearing Intelligence
Abstract
Description This paper is the fifth paper in the HγC A-series on structural ethics for history-bearing intelligence. Building on A4, which introduced bounded revisability as the regime condition between rigid closure and dissolving openness, A5 extends the analysis from a single history-bearing intelligence to distributed ethical fields. The paper introduces the concepts of distributed ethical field, distributed bounded revisability, and responsibility landing-with-transmission. It argues that social ethics, in the A5 sense, is not primarily a rule system imposed on collective life, but the structural condition under which ethical fields remain open enough to revise, closed enough to carry ethical history, and organized enough for responsibility to land and transmit repair. The analysis develops distributed closure, excess distributed closure, distributed openness, excess distributed openness, and distributed responsibility. It then applies these concepts to public memory, institutional repair, and hybrid human-machine systems. The paper does not offer a full theory of institutional justice, public memory, governance design, AI ethics, technological transition history, or formal modeling. Its purpose is narrower: to fix the structural conditions under which distributed ethical fields remain viable as history-bearing and revisable formations.
