The Gravitational Field as the Electromagnetic Parameter Field: An Ontological Conjecture Based on GPS Empirical Calibration(引力场即电磁参数场:一个基于GPS经验标定的本体论猜想)
Abstract
This paper proposes a deeper ontological conjecture based on the "Cosmological Model of Gravitational Potential Modulation": the vacuum equivalent permittivity ε and permeability μ are not universal constants independent of the gravitational field, but rather the local intrinsic properties of the gravitational field. The gravitational field and the vacuum electromagnetic parameter field are ontologically the same physical reality. This conjecture demotes the independent axiom of "gravitational potential modulating the electromagnetic medium" in the original model to a natural corollary of the unified ontological framework in the weak-field approximation. This study takes the high-precision calibration of the gravitational-electromagnetic coupling constant α from the GPS clock offset experiment as the direct empirical basis, with the gravitational deflection of light, the universal constancy of the fine-structure constant, and the Casimir effect serving as indirect support. The conjecture fully inherits all quantitative conclusions and testable predictions of the original model while achieving theoretical simplification through axiomatic reduction. In terms of theoretical development, this paper constructs a tensor field equation framework with the electromagnetic parameter tensors εμν and μμν as fundamental variables. Based on the fundamental principle of Maxwellian electromagnetism that a changing electric field generates a magnetic field, a key conclusion is derived: in a static gravitational field, only the dielectric tensor participates in the local evolution, while the permeability maintains the vacuum background constant; in dynamic scenarios, the electromagnetic induction effect excites the coupling of the permeability tensor, causing the medium parameters to rise synchronously and the local speed of light to decrease. This mechanism unifies gravitational and motional time dilation as different manifestations of the same physical process—the change in the configuration of the vacuum electromagnetic parameters—achieving a foundational unification of gravitational effects, relativistic motional effects, and electromagnetic laws. Based on this, several new testable predictions distinct from existing theories are proposed, offering a new physical picture and experimental directions for the deep unification of gravitational and electromagnetic interactions.
