Abstract

These data and code are archived from the paper: Behavioral Response of Moose (Alces alces) to Summer Heat Stress in Minnesota by Carstensen et al. 2025. This research analyzed data from free ranging moose in Northern Minnesota during 2013-2017. It contains information on resource selection, heat stress, and activity data. Data are property of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources per Minnesota State Statute, but can be used with appropriate credit. There is no private data included in these files, per MN Statute 13.03. Due to Minnesota state law, ethical considerations and potential impacts on sensitive wildlife populations, access to the primary GPS tracking data is restricted. These data are available for research purposes upon request from the corresponding author, subject to a data use agreement with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. All other code, data, and information can be found herein.
