Structured Vacuum Field Theory: Why the Vacuum Does Not Gravitate
Abstract
Structured Vacuum Field Theory (SVFT) treats the vacuum as a single reactive coherence medium whose gravitational, quantum, and cosmological behaviour are spectral regimes of one response operator. This paper is a reconciliation: it audits the SVFT corpus for internal inconsistencies, repairs or withdraws the claims that do not survive mathematical and observational scrutiny, and preserves only those that do. It reconciles competing kernel definitions onto a single normalized operator; retracts an erroneous sub-millimetre coherence length in favour of a Planck-scale value; corrects the gravitational-constant relation; and shows that uniform vacuum energy does not gravitate, structurally suppressing the cosmological-constant problem. It establishes that the closure constant and the dark-energy coefficient are constitutive inputs rather than derived quantities — the framework fixes the relations among constants and the scale of cosmic acceleration, but not these dimensionless values. A proposed persistence-lag dark-energy mechanism is falsified against the observed equation of state. The gravitational-wave sector yields a falsifiable prediction: a frequency-dependent (ω²) Kelvin–Voigt damping signature, distinct from standard modified-gravity friction, testable by third-generation detectors. Negative results are reported as prominently as positive ones. Developed in collaboration with large language models (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT, Google Gemini); methods and derivations are stated transparently for independent verification.
