Abstract

Software supports the analyses and figures presented in Zhang, M., Turner, D. D., and Entekhabi, D. (2026), Observed Land Surface Influence on Atmospheric Heat and Moisture Profiles During Interstorms, accepted in AGU journal, Water Resources Research. This release corresponds to version v1.0.0 of the analysis code. Users should run the workflow in MATLAB and compare key outputs against expected intermediate products. The Python notebook that computes thermodynamic buoyancy profiles with MetPy:May, R. M., S. C. Arms, P. Marsh, E. Bruning, J. R. Leeman, K. Goebbert, J. E. Thielen, Z. Bruick, and M. D. Camron (2025), MetPy: A Python package for meteorological data, Unidata/MetPy, Unidata, https://doi.org/10.5065/D6WW7G29. All datasets used in this study were obtained from the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) Data Center, openly available at https://adc.arm.gov/discovery. Please see README.txt file.
