Abstract

This dataset contains anonymized data collected from 400 pregnant women attending antenatal care (ANC) services in selected hospitals and maternal and child health centers in Bosaso, Puntland State, Somalia. The dataset was generated as part of the study entitled “Magnitude and Determinants of Adherence to Iron–Folic Acid Supplementation among Pregnant Women in Bosaso, Somalia: A Facility-Based Cross-Sectional Study.” The study aimed to assess the prevalence of adherence to iron–folic acid supplementation (IFAS) and identify factors associated with adherence among pregnant women attending ANC services. Data were collected using a structured interviewer-administered questionnaire covering socio-demographic characteristics, obstetric and reproductive history, antenatal care utilization, maternal knowledge regarding anemia, and iron–folic acid supplementation practices. The dataset includes 400 observations and variables related to maternal age, education, occupation, household income, husband’s education, gravidity, gestational age, ANC attendance, timing of ANC initiation, knowledge of anemia, and adherence to iron–folic acid supplementation. The data have been anonymized to protect participant confidentiality and are provided for research, educational, and policy purposes.
