The Pleasure Order — Theory Specification and Honest Claim-Boundary (v1.5, 2026-07-05 status sync)
Abstract
English, honest-status version of The Pleasure Order / Valence Order Theory. It supersedes the v1.3–v1.4 claim boundary (2026-06-22) with the project's current status: O/M/A retired (= Antonovsky Sense of Coherence); the currently-measurable order operator absorbed by free-energy across four EMA datasets (2026-07-01); Anchor downgraded; any remaining distinctiveness localized to a single pre-specified but untested collapse-gate / critical-transition claim. It does not claim D3 evidence, DC2 validation, direct O/M/A validation, causality, clinical validation, distinctness from rival frameworks (free-energy, viability, capability, SDT, SOC, appraisal), or a unified proof. The pleasure/suffering asymmetry is derived from the collapse-gate's irreversibility, not an independent postulate, so it shares the untested gate's fate. Where the collapse-gate comes from. It is not an ad-hoc statistical wager but the empirical operationalization of the theory's core criterion, anti-fixation: a category (a life, a mind, a system) dies when it loses reversibility. "Collapse" is that loss made dynamical — Ω (directionality / future-viability, the capacity to revise, repair, reverse) driven irreversibly toward zero, so the space of future options closes. It is read through the borrowed critical-transition / tipping-point framework (early-warning signals, critical slowing), with VOT's distinctive addition being gated hysteresis plus an external-viability endpoint — the sole remaining differentiator, since the currently-measurable order operator is already absorbed by free-energy.
