Abstract

How can two intelligences that perceive the world differently share one and the same knowledge structure? We assume the existence of an intelligence whose perception differs from that of humans, and ask what syntactic structure would let such intelligences communicate. We propose that an intermediary syntactic structure — which we call an inter-intelligence intermediary syntax (IIIS) — makes such shared observation possible, and we show that it is constructible. As one implementation, we present EchoScript (ES): a flat, two-column, pipe-separated structure in which the pipe is a mere divider carrying no meaning of its own. The same ES is observed by an artificial intelligence as JSON and by a human as a two-column table — one structure, two perceptions. We conclude that an inter-intelligence intermediary syntax for shared observation across differing perceptions is constructible.
