Handbook of Psychotherapies — A Comparative Reference to 106 Therapies and 20 Core Exercises (LogiMind Reference)
Abstract
An open-access, systematic reference to 106 psychotherapies, complementary approaches, and contemplative practices (the TI codes of the LogiMind reference), documented in English on a single comparative grid so that heterogeneous methods can be read side by side. Part I comprises ten thematic volumes (brief cognitive-behavioral, targeted brief, insight & hypnosis, relaxation & body, hypnosis & meditation, arts therapies, complementary & sensory, contemplative & spiritual paths, breathwork, and depth approaches). Part II develops twenty core therapeutic exercises along a fixed 15-chapter protocol grid. Every entry follows the same PI section grid (genesis, bibliography, therapeutic domain, ten founding principles, ten techniques, a twenty-step protocol, recognition, outcomes, evidence evaluation, per-country sections). A defining feature is intellectual honesty about the evidence gradient: each approach is explicitly classified from well-established (CBT, DBT, ACT, MBSR, progressive relaxation, prolonged exposure) through complementary (real but modest, often non-specific effects) to frankly unvalidated (crystal healing, dolphin-assisted therapy) and spiritual paths whose aims lie outside scientific verification. Documented risks — essential-oil toxicity, meditation adverse effects, guru/teacher abuse, breathwork drownings, sectarian drift, loss of chance — are foregrounded rather than omitted. References are real (BibTeX in each entry; no invented DOIs). Freely citable under the stated licence. Version 1.1: TI10 withdrawn (Reserved) and TI59 corrected (defamation risk removed); added TI118 (Initiatic/Leib Therapy, Dürckheim); francophone and German-speaking local therapies presented in condensed form (full in FR/DE editions); verified factual corrections. 106 therapies total. v1.1.1 patch (2026-07-21): Numbering bug fix (%02d format applied to TI01–TI09) + dual-locale consolidation across the 4-language corpus. Content remains 106 therapies / 20 core exercises. Version 1.1.2 (2026-07-21) — corrective release. Cross-references to withdrawn entries repaired: TI23 now points to TI12 (Behavioral Activation remains in the corpus under TI12; only the code was stale); the reference to withdrawn TI19 is removed from TI20; an editorial verification artefact is removed from TI118. The preface has been brought into line with the actual contents: the work comprises 106 entries — 97 universal therapies plus 9 regional schools of the German-speaking area (TI37–TI45) — with corrected per-volume counts, and the withdrawn codes TI10, TI18 and TI19 explicitly listed as Reserved placeholders that are never reassigned. No therapy content was added or removed. Full errata: ERRATA.md. Version 1.1.3 (2026-07-21). Front-matter correction: a leftover Volume 1 preamble that survived assembly still carried the v1.0.0 DOI and announced « 91 psychotherapies »; the normalization note announced « ~90 therapies ». Both now state the actual figure. No content change. Version 1.1.4 (2026-07-21). Cross-reference correction. Errata v1.0.1 renamed TI60 from « Ericksonian Hypnosis » to Focusing (Gendlin), but the references pointing at TI60 were never updated: five profiles (TI61, TI62, TI64, TI73, TI76) still introduced TI60 as Ericksonian hypnosis, sending the reader to Gendlin's Focusing instead of to TI92, where that therapy actually lives. All corrected to TI92. See ERRATA.md §6. Version 1.1.5 (2026-07-21). Code-collision fix. When the nine German-language regional schools were given the block TI37–TI45, three of those codes were already in use in cross-references: TI16 cited « Brief Addiction and Impulse Therapy (TI39) » (that therapy is TI34), and TI95 cited « Somatic Experiencing (TI42) » and « Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (TI41) », neither of which has an entry. Corrected. Also: a residual « 98 entries » in the evidence-gradient section. See ERRATA.md §8. Version 1.1.6 (2026-07-22). Corrective release. Cross-reference fixes surfaced while producing the Italian edition: numbering collision on the TI37–TI45 regional block (TI16→TI34, TI95 codes removed); Part II code fixes (EXO07/EXO20 ACT→TI05, Schema Therapy code removed; EXO16 Ericksonian Hypnosis TI60→TI92); Reserved entries and section labels harmonised; residual «98» count corrected.
