The Effect of Contiguous Intraday Hour Boundaries on Bullish Engulfing Outcomes in XAUUSD M15
Abstract
This independent research paper examines whether the historical outcomes of Bullish Engulfing events in XAUUSD M15 vary across contiguous intraday hour boundaries under a fixed BUY 3:3 configuration. The study compares an all-hours baseline with a selected 22:00–01:00 historical boundary using win rate, cumulative R-multiple, average R, day-level and week-level consistency, coverage, trade duration, and recent 30-day and 7-day evidence. Bullish Engulfing events were generated using a proprietary rule-based framework. The exact event-detection logic is withheld to protect trade-secret research methodology. The post-detection analytical procedure is documented in the paper. This paper is part of the Market Setup Analytics Research Paper Series. First published: 17 July 2026Version: 1.0
