Data and code for "Mapping digitally mediated youth community-benefit engagement: a bibliometric analysis of volunteering, service-learning and digital civic participation"
Abstract
This deposit contains the data and analysis code for a bibliometric science map of youth digitally mediated community-benefit engagement (volunteering, service-learning, and community-oriented civic contribution). The corpus was drawn from the Web of Science Core Collection (English articles and reviews, search date 10 July 2026) and screened along four axes to a final set of 310 records. The package includes the full search strategy, the PRISMA-style record flow (876 to 875 to 318 to 310), the included-record identifier list, all screening decisions and dictionaries, the keyword harmonisation thesaurus, ordered R and Python analysis scripts, derived matrices and output tables, network files and figures (annual output, thematic map, keyword co-occurrence, co-citation, RPYS, historiograph, MCA, three-field plot, PRISMA), a parameter-robustness sweep, extended-data tables S1 (documented novelty search) and S2 (screening-sensitivity contrast), robustness tables R1 to R3, an external consistency check against OpenAlex, and a reproducibility checklist. Raw licensed Web of Science records are not redistributed; the scripts regenerate the corpus from the documented query. Code is released under the MIT License and data and outputs under CC BY 4.0. Prepared in the context of COST Action CA23114 (RELINK).
