Abstract

Gal3D is a Python library for constructing and analyzing three-dimensional galaxy morphology models from simulated particle data. It fits iso-density surfaces with a superellipsoid model to capture boxy and disky isophotes beyond the ellipsoid approximation, and characterizes radial shape profiles of axis ratios and shape indices.
