Abstract

This record contains version 1.0.0 of the simulation and analysis software supporting the manuscript “Beyond Hydrogen: Simultaneous Depth Profiling of Water and Rock-Forming Elements in the Martian Shallow Subsurface via Combined Active Neutron and Prompt Gamma-Ray Spectroscopy.” The archived package includes the Geant4 simulation source code and macros, geometry and material definitions, particle-source configurations, post-processing scripts, and machine-readable outputs used to produce the principal analyses, tables, and figures reported in the manuscript. The simulations evaluate the combined sensitivity of active-neutron and prompt gamma-ray observables to subsurface hydrogen abundance, burial depth, layer thickness, and rock-forming element composition under representative Martian shallow-subsurface conditions. Installation requirements, software dependencies, directory structure, execution procedures, and instructions for reproducing the archived results are provided in README.md. Third-party software, including Geant4 and its associated data libraries, is not redistributed and must be installed separately. This archived release is intended to support transparent evaluation, reproduction, and reuse of the computational analyses presented in the associated study. Users of the software should cite this Zenodo record using DOI 10.5281/zenodo.21676616.
