The Primordial Field and the First Fluctuation: The Origin of Matter and the Onset of Self-Replication of the Universe
Abstract
This paper proposes a singularity-free cosmogonic hypothesis: primarily there existed a single continuous field — a homogeneous “mono-substance” not composed of particles, which itself forms boundless space. Particles are local condensations of this field, consistent with quantum field theory (fields primary, particles as excitations). The first condensation arises from a spontaneous fluctuation (“error”) in the field — in the spirit of the universe-from-a-vacuum-fluctuation idea (Tryon 1973; Vilenkin 1982) and spontaneous symmetry breaking. Stable condensations form quantum mechanisms and set self-replication in motion, underlying the subsequent evolution of the Universe. The status is stated honestly (most fundamental and speculative part of the program) with an explicit link to testable consequences (H0 = r/3; prediction of a boundless, homogeneous space).
