Augmentation-Ideal Realization of Special Nottingham Congruence Series and Cartier Indecomposables
Abstract
Let k = Fp, with p >= 5, let A = k[[x1, ..., xn]], n >= 3, and let m be its maximal ideal. Let G be the group of volume-preserving formal automorphisms of A tangent to the identity, and put Gs = {g in G : g(xi) - xi is in m^s for every i} and TN = G/GN. The action of TN on A/m^N filters the integral augmentation ideal by the amount through which an operator raises the m-adic filtration. The resulting ideals Ia satisfy {g in TN : g - 1 is in Ia} = Ga+1/GN for 1
