A New Relativistic Transformation: Beyond the Standard Doppler Effect Interpretation
Abstract
Special Relativity was originally formulated through coordinate transformations describing motion effects between inertial reference frames. Although the theory has been extensively validated experimentally some concepts can be reinterpreted. We present an alternative framework for describing Special Relativity that’s changes our interpretation about the light Doppler effect nature. Our approach is based on the relativistic velocity space projected onto the proper velocity space. By employing a three-dimensional representation, we introduce an anisotropic variable scale factor, which we term the Generalized Relativistic Transformation (GRT), represented by Greek letter 𝛺. This anisotropic formulation enables distinct descriptions for relativistic events depending on the reference frame velocity modulus as well as the information and velocity directions. The main result of this approach is to recover the Lorentz factor, 𝛾, and to generalize it to broaden the current understanding of Relativity. With this was possible to obtain a general solution to describe the Doppler effect using only the relativistic time correction and obtaining the same corrections provided by standard Doppler effect interpretation.
