Abstract

The NFDI4Earth Label is being developed as a mechanism to foster the harmonisation of research data infrastructures within the Earth System Sciences community and to support the creation of a FAIR ecosystem of services across NFDI4Earth. The Label primarily addresses two key aspects: the technical interoperability of repositories and their trustworthiness as providers of research data and services. This milestone builds upon two previous reports. The *First Status Report on the NFDI4Earth Label* (Grieb et al., 2024) introduced the concept, objectives, and theoretical foundations of the Label. The *Second Status Report on the NFDI4Earth Label* (Brylka et al., 2025) presented the first public release of the framework and described its technical implementation. The present report summarises the experiences gained during the first year of operational use. It provides an overview of repository participation and assessment outcomes, discusses feedback collected from repository operators and the wider community, highlights lessons learned during the assessment process, and describes refinements made to the workflow and evaluation framework based on these experiences.
