Special Courses in Seismic Exploration
Abstract
Special Courses in Seismic Exploration is a collection of advanced educational materials intended for students, graduate researchers, scientists, and industry professionals who wish to deepen their knowledge of the mathematical and physical foundations of seismic exploration. The collection includes special courses on the physical principles of the Common Depth Point (CDP) method, color seismic imaging and its application to hydrocarbon detection, seismic-stratigraphic modeling and stacking, and migration and demigration. Particular attention is given to the geometrical theory of seismic imaging, wavefield kinematics, multifocusing methods, diffraction, seismic interpretation, and the algorithmic implementation of the methods in the CubeTechnology system. Each special course combines a physical and mathematical introduction with examples of seismic-data processing and a set of review questions intended for self-study and teaching. The materials may be used in university courses, undergraduate and graduate projects, dissertations, and professional training in seismic-data processing and interpretation.Related publications: CubeTechnology: More Than 30 Years of Digital Seismic Evolution https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.22122420 Subsurface Image and Parameter Estimation in Seismic Exploration https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.22064681 Practical Guidance for the Installation and Operation of the CubeTechnology System with Artificial Intelligence Support from ChatGPThttps://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.22843065
