Abstract

Öz:James Alexander McLellan'ın Applied Psychology: An Introduction to the Principles and Practice of Education adlı eseri, zihin bilimi ile sınıf pedagojisi arasında sistematik bir köprü kurar. Abstract:Applied Psychology: An Introduction to the Principles and Practice of Education by James Alexander McLellan presents a systematic bridge between the science of mind and classroom pedagogy. McLellan argues that effective teaching must be rooted in an understanding of mental development, attention, memory, and self-activity. The book breaks down core psychological processes—such as perception, apperception, judgment, and willpower—explaining how teachers can structure lessons to align with natural cognitive growth. Rejecting rote learning, McLellan emphasizes active student participation, character formation, and logical reasoning. His work offers a practical, scientifically grounded framework for educators aiming to transform psychological principles into successful instructional methods.
